It is confirmed! Song Joong Ki filed divorce from Song Hye Kyo
Song Joong Ki filed divorce from Song Hye Kyo and the camp of the South Korean actor confirmed this.
The Song Song couple gained popularity as an onscreen tandem through their K-drama series Descendants of the Sun. Joong Ki played the role of a soldier while Hye Kyo was a doctor in the series.
Their love story became a reality when they announced that they are getting married two years ago. They tied the knot last October 31, 2017, which brought excitement to their fans.
However, it was reported last March that the Song Song couple is allegedly getting a divorce. It was rumored that they already separated that time. When Hye Kyo was spotted at the airport without her wedding ring, the speculations even took a higher notch.
Behind this, their management dismissed the rumors stating that they are non-sense.
On the other hand, Atty. Park Jae Hyun, the lawyer of Song Joong Ki confirmed that the couple is getting a divorce.
Based on the report of ABS-CBN, the South Korean actor already filed a divorce from Song Hye Kyo.
“Our law firm filed for divorce on behalf of Song Joong Ki at the Seoul Family Court on June 26. Additionally, we would like to convey Song Joong Ki’s official statement,” the lawyer said.
Amid this issue, Joong Ki apologized to the people who are supporting him, based on the report.
“I have begun the process of filing for divorce from Song Hye Kyo. Rather than denouncing one another and arguing over who is to blame, I hope that the divorce process can be wrapped up amicably,” he said.
The actor also said, “I ask for your understanding in regards to the fact that it is difficult to discuss the details of my personal life, and I will recover from my current wounds and do my utmost as an actor to repay you through great productions in the future.”
