Education in public schools are free but students still have to pay several school fees, pencils, ballpen, papers, notebooks, and bags.

Recently, a Facebook user named Sophous Suon has shared the photo of a young student carrying a backpack made of raffia string.

A first-grade student named Ny Keng of Lumphat Primary School in Lumphat, Battambang province in Cambodia goes to school barefoot due to extreme poverty.

Keng’s father could not afford to buy a bag, so he find ways to give his son something he could for school.

The poor dad used “Raffia Strings,” a plant similar to Abaca to create a bag for his son and dyed it blue.

The impressive string bag has straps so it could be used as a backpack and there’s even a clash to ensure that the bag can be closed.

Sophous Suon was impressed so she decided to take photos and post it on social media.
