Basilan Town Barangay Captain Living a Simple Lifestyle Goes Viral
Barangay captain Ust. Hon. Abdulhalim Maranie Hatain of Linuan, Albarka Municipality in Basilan earns praises online because of his simple lifestyle.
A Facebook user named Haries Sahibul Taha has shared the simple lifestyle of Basilan town barangay captain.
Taha described barangay captain Hatain as an ordinary person with a big heart towards other people.
The netizen said that Hatain is a simple, generous, humble, kind, useful, and a helpful person in their village.
Haries revealed that the barangay captain do not use the money to improve his home or to purchase equipment but he was using it to help the residents.
Hatain even spent all of his Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) to provide food for the people last Ramadan.
The kind barangay official only shows that he is a good example towards others because of his sacrifices and dedication to service.

“This is the house of barangay captain Linuan, Albarka Municipality Basilan Province. His name is Ust. Hon. Abdulhalim Maranie Hatain. He is an Islamic teacher. He is a simple person. Very simple! Generous, useful, very kind, helpful, and most of all he is extremely humble. You do not realize he is a barangay captain. Just look at his house, his appearance, his outfit, and try to compare him with other barangay captains? We know that their difference is far away. And he, he did not use people’s money for personal gain such as home improvement or purchasing equipment. Unlike other captains they are taking advantage of the rights of their citizens. And not just that, in the past Ramadan he gave rice to his people, provided food, and he helps those in need. He poured all his IRAs on his people. Maa Shaa Allaah! There’s no doubt, you’re a real captain kahtuwan.
He is the best example of all the barangay captains in the basilan and we salute you captain/kahtuwan!“
