China Hit by 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake
EARTHQUAKE – A 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit China and left at least 11 people dead and 122 injured.
Among the natural incidents that usually occur in the different parts of the world are earthquakes. These incidents cause shaking and the effect can lead to the damage of properties and, worst, loss of lives.
Almost every country has its own designated agency that records a quake. For China, it is the China Earthquake Networks Center while the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the Philippines.
Recently, China was hit by a strong quake.
Based on an article on ABS-CBN News, China was hit by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake leaving at least 11 people dead and 122 injured.
According to CENC, the quake was located outside the city of Yibin in Sichuan Province. It had a depth of 16 kilometers causing a nearby hotel to collapse.
Following the quake is a series of four(4) aftershocks. Among these aftershocks, the strongest recorded was at 5.1 magnitude.
Currently, search and rescue operations are ongoing.
