Driver of White Ford Everest Rescued After the SUV Fell Off Legazpi Port

WHITE FORD EVEREST – A sport utility vehicle (SUV) fell into the water in a port in Legazpi City today.

Undeniably, there are a lot of risks in driving whether it is a motorcycle or a four-wheeled vehicle. That is why drivers have to be really extra careful in maneuvering the steering wheel.

However, sometimes, no matter how careful you are, there might still be inevitable circumstances caused by certain reasons. Accidents as they are, may spark anywhere just like what recently happened in Legazpi City.

Based on a report on Wheels.ph, a white Ford Everest fell into the water in a port in Legazpi City. The driver was identified as Josefina Thomas.

Citing The Star, Thomas, a finance officer of the prominent motorcycle brand Rusi, was reportedly about to park her car when the incident happened.

The SUV fell into the water and the personnel of the port were quick to rescue Josefina Thomas. Also, some bystanders at the post helped in saving the driver who was trapped inside the vehicle.

Based on the report, the rescuers had no choice but to open the car’s door by force so they can rescue Thomas. She obtained bruises from the incident and was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated.

According to Fatima Reaso, the acting port manager of Philippine Ports Authority-Legazpi, it was the very first instance that a vehicle fell in the spot of a port.

Also, Reaso stressed that they are “puzzled” as to how the car fell off into the water as “the port rail is high enough to stop the wheels”.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Ports Authority – Legazpi acting port manager said that she would recommend for further elevation of the railings to prevent accidents from occurring.
