Undeniably, a lot of people do not like eating vegetable viands most especially the kids. The usual favorite of most people are the fried food and those that come with soup.
However, avoiding vegetables is not the way to keep one’s self healthy. As much as we can, we should consider vegetable dishes to supply our bodies with the vitamins and other nutrients it need.
One of the most delicious vegetable dish that you can prepare for you and your loved ones is Chop Suey. You may be needing a Chop Suey recipe in cooking for the ideas on the steps and the ingredients to prepare.
Here is a Chop Suey Recipe including the steps on how to cook this vegetable dish and the ingredients that you will need:
Chop Suey Ingredients:
- 1 kilo pork
- 1/4 kilo carrots
- 1 half cabbage (if big) or 1 whole cabbage (if small)
- 1/4 chayote or sayote
- broccoli (optional)
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 Magic Sarap
- 1 Knorr pork cube
- water
Steps in Cooking Chop Suey:
Step 1 – Prepare all the ingredients, a frying pan with cover, and a boiling pot. Do the following to the ingredients:
- cut the pork into small cubes
- peel and slice the carrots in 1/4 inch-thick
- cut the cabbage into thick strips
- peel and slice the sayote in 1/4 inch-thick
- mince the onion
- mince the garlic
Step 2 – Prepare the boiling pot and fill 1/3 of it with water. Add the pork cubes and let it boil for twenty(20) to thirty(30) minutes over medium heat.
Step 3 – Once the pork cubes have softened, remove it from water and set it aside for a while.
Step 4 – Place the frying pan over medium heat. Add some oil.
Step 5 – Saute the garlic until its color turns into light brown.
Step 6 – Add the minced onion and small pork cubes. Saute until it becomes dry.
Step 7 – Add the seasoning ingredients like the Magic Sarap and the Knorr pork cube.
Step 8 – Add some water and then add the carrots, the cabbage, the sayote, and the broccoli. Saute and stir until the vegetables are softened.
Step 9 – Transfer the food to a serving plate and enjoy your delicious vegetable dish.
Aside from the vegetables used in this recipe, you may also add other veggies like the bell peppers. You may also add some shrimp should you want to do so.
