19 Houses in San Enrique, Negros Occidental Slammed by Devastating Tornado

A tornado hit and destroyed at least 19 houses in three villages in the town of San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

On Wednesday (June 5, 2019), Elenita Amen, a Municipal Risk Reduction Management officer, reported that about 19 houses in San Enrique, Negros Occidental have been damaged by a devastating tornado.

Amen said that three (3) houses were totally destroyed while 16 other houses in Barangay Batuan, Guintorilan, and Sibucao got damaged.

The residents in the area said that the tornado contains small pieces of ice but no one was injured during the incident.

Amen also said that the San Enrique municipal government is providing assistance to the tornado-affected residents.

Last March, a devastating tornado also slammed into 20 houses and ripped off part of a San Enrique community rice mill’s roof.
