DOLE Reminds Employers of Pay Rules For June 5 & 12

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded both employers and employees of the pay rules for upcoming holidays this June.

DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III issued an advisory informing the employers to pay employees with proper wages for June 5 (Eid’l Fitr) and 12 (Philippine Independence Day).

The Labor secretary said that the workers who will report at work during those holidays shall receive 200 percent of their regular salary.

Bello also said that the employees who will not work on these holidays shall be paid 100 percent of their daily wage.

The Labor Department also explained that workers who will work overtime shall be paid an additional 30 percent of their hourly rate.

Employees who will work on their rest day during a regular holiday are entitled to receive an additional 30 percent of their basic wage of 200 percent.

Pay Rules

Laborers who will work overtime during their rest day that also falls on a regular holiday shall receive an additional 30 percent of their doubled hourly rate.
