More Or Less 7000 Muslims Showed Up To Celebrate Eid’l Fitr In Manila
ABOUT 7000 – To celebrate the annual Muslim festival “Eid’l Fitr”, about 7000 Muslims in Manila gathered to pray earlier today (June 4, 2019).
A few days ago, the president already made the announcement that the celebration of Eid’l Fitr on June 5 will be a national holiday. Therefore, there won’t be any classes tomorrow.
However, despite the set schedule for Eid’l Fitr celebration in the Philippines, some Muslims decided to follow Saudi Arabia’s schedule.
About 7000 Muslims have already celebrated the festival of “Breaking the Fast” or more popularly known as Eid’l Fitr.
This religious holiday is normally celebrated by millions of Muslims around the globe. This ends the mark of Ramadan – or the holy month in Islam, set for fasting.
Eid is the first and also the only day in the month of Shawwal – the tenth month of the lunar based Islamic calendar – when Muslims are no longer allowed to fast.
This is based on DZMM TeleRadyo’s Twitter post.
In a video featured in DZMM TeleRadyo’s Twitter post, hundreds of Muslims can be seen participating in a religious activity in celebration of this year’s festivity.
Globally, there are about 1.6 billion Muslims following the traditional celebration.
Muslims take parts in the celebration of Eid to express their gratefulness to Allah. They give thanks to Allah for allowing their obligations to be fulfilled by them through fasting.
If you are personally acquainted with a Muslim, wish them a happy celebration.
For greetings,
In Turkish language, people commonly greet by saying ‘bayramınız kutlu olsun‘ meaning ‘may your Bayram (Eid) be blessed’.
For the Arabic language, they commonly say ‘Eid Mubarak’ which means ‘Have a blessed Eid’ or ‘Eid Saeed’ meaning ‘Happy Eid’.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
