Filipino Teenager Darwin Ramos Could Possibly Become The Next Saint
A young Filipino teenager named Darwin Ramos dubbed as “Servant of God” could possibly become the next saint because of his good deeds.
Last March 29, 2019, the Vatican declared Darwin Ramos as the “Servant of God”, which is a part of the process to become a saint.
The Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints Cardinal Angelo Bacciu performed the process.
Postulator Fr. Thomas de Gabory, a French Dominical would conduct the process for Cubao Diocesan Tribunal.
Bishop Honesto Ongtioco of Cubao said that Darwin’s cause of canonization has been started as requested by “The Friends of Darwin Ramos Association,” according to CBCP.
Bishop Ongtiongco also said that the Vatican already gave them the signal to study the life of the Pinoy teenager.
“The Vatican has given us the go signal to go deeper in his life how he lived his faith and how he gave witness to Jesus to whom he was very close,” Ongtiongco said.
Darwin Ramos grew up collecting scraps to earn a certain amount of cash for his family. He also suffered a disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The disease made Darwin’s body condition weak but he was still able to help his fellow teenagers because of his faith to the Lord Jesus Christ.
In September 2012, Ramos died because of the disease.
