Through this film festival, Filipinos will be able to know about the French culture.

“Even if France and the Philippines are very far from each other—more than ten thousand kilometers—in many cases we have the same problems, the same interrogations, and [to see] how filmmakers are dealing with these questions the same way,” His Excellency Nicolas Galey, French Ambassador to the Philippines said.

On June 12, in line with the celebration of Philippine Independence Day, the festival will feature films that will highlight Franco-Philippine relations.

Meanwhile, on June 14, the French Embassy and Spark!, a non-profit organization that champions women, organized a forum on the difficulties of being a young girl in France and the Philippines.

The four films which parts of the scenes were shot in Paris are: Pepe Diokno’s Above the Clouds, Carlo Catu’s Waiting for Sunset, Carlo Manatad’s Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee of the Month, and National Artist Kidlat Tahimik’s Mababangong Bangungot.
