UV Express Ordered To Follow Terminal-To-Terminal Policy in Dropping, Picking Passengers
UV EXPRESS – The UV Express units are not anymore allowed to pick or drop off passengers in between their designated terminals.
Aside from buses, another mode of transportation in several areas in the Philippines most especially in traveling between Luzon provinces are the UV Express units.
Usually, these units are van or FX and they may implement fares that are quite higher than those implemented by bus companies.
A lot of people who are in a rush usually prefer these as they do not do frequent stopping along the road. However, it seems that some of its units now are making stops in between their designated terminals.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently issued a memorandum related to it.
According to the LTFRB in its post on its official Facebook page, it has observed that a lot of the units are not abiding by the “terminal-to-terminal” operation rule.
The government agency stated that the UV Express units are not allowed to pick or drop passengers in between their designated terminals.
In a memorandum circular dated May 16, the units are ordered to strictly abide by the “terminal to terminal” rule in operation as part of the observance of the “original policy”.
In its post, the LTFRB stressed that not following the “terminal-to-terminal” rule prolongs the turn around travel time of the vehicles.
Also, according to the agency, it posts struggle on the part of the enforcers to implement the service expected of them.
