Queen Of PH Javelin Erlinda Lavandia Bags Four Gold Medals In Singapore Tournament
QUEEN OF PH JAVELIN – The Queen of Javelin Erlinda Lavandia won four gold medals in international sports meets.
Filipinos are among the most competitive athletes in the world. They brought pride to the country by winning a medal in any competition.
Among these great Filipino athletes include Hidilyn Diaz, Lydia de Vega, Mark Harry Diones, and Mary Joy Tabal.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the “Queen of Philippine Javelin” Erlinda Lavandia won four gold medals during the Singapore Masters Athletics 40th Anniversary Track and Field 2019.
The 67-year-old athlete defeated the athletes from 13 different countries. She started joining sports competition in 1972 and won her first gold in the Sea Games in 1977.
The Queen of PH Javelin won those medals for javelin throw, hammer throw, discus throw, and shot put event.
Erlinda Lavandia was awarded as the “Best Athlete of Field Events” in Southeast Asia.
“For the first time pangarap ko na makamtan ko ang four gold, eto na ngayon… nakuha ko na. Masayang masaya ako,” she said.
According to the report, the Queen of PH Javelin currently serves as a consultant at the Philippine Sports Commission.
“Magtitraining silang maigi, kailangan higit sa lahat meron silang dedication, determination… the most important is discipline,” said Lavadia.
She will be returning on the track to represent the country for the Asian Masters Athletic this coming November at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
