A tornado has been sighted in Camarines Sur
A tornado was spotted in Brgy. Palo, Canaman, Camarines Sur at around 1 P.M. on Tuesday and this plowed houses for about 15 minutes.
This natural incident happens when a column of air rapidly rotates that is in contact with both the surface of the Earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud.
It can be classified into three different types – the multiple vortex tornado, landspout, and waterspout.
The multiple vortex tornado contains several vortices (called subvortices or suction vortices) rotating around, inside of, and as part of the main vortex.
Landsprout is a colloquial expression describing tornadoes occurring with a parent cloud in its growth stage and with its vorticity originating in the boundary layer.
Watersprout is an intense columnar vortex (usually appearing as a funnel-shaped cloud) that occurs over a body of water.
The one that occurred in Camarines Sur just recently appeared to be a landsprout.
