SSS Fixer Scammed 21 Pensioners In Negros Occidental

21 Pensioners From Negros Occidental Scammed By SSS Fixer Into Getting A Loan

SSS FIXER – 21 pensioners ended up as victims of estafa after a fixer swindled them into getting a loan from the Social Security System (SSS).

Laws against swindling and fixers in government agencies and departments have been established in the past. These were passed to avoid deceptive extortions and other possible crimes related to swindling.

SSS, last year, released their loan program for pensioners.

Pensioners Loan Program would allow retirees/pensioners to have moderate credits if there should be an occurrence of a crisis including therapeutic costs and keep beneficiaries to loan cash from advance foundations offering enormous financing costs.

In Brgy. Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Province, a ‘runner’ was summoned at the local barangay by two of the 21 victimized pensioners for settlement.

The accused, Marissa Sonalan faced the two pensioners identified as Norma Losauro and Leonardo Rivera to discuss the case.

Sonalan allegedly convinced the two pensioners to apply for a loan at the Social Security System. The pensioners then each applied for a 20,000-peso loan.

They confirmed their loan application on the first week of April. For the process, they handed their cash card to Sonalan’s boss for them to receive half of the total amount of their loaned cash before its release from SSS.

Sonalan’s boss was supposed to cut 10% off the loan amount once it’s transferred to the cash card.

However, it’s already mid May yet the pensioners did not receive the full amount from the SSS office.

SSS pensioner Norma Losauro was also confused because according to the office of SSS, the maximum time period for procession would only take up top 10 days.

This is according to a report from ABS CBN News.

Sonalan’s boss can no longer be found.

SSS raised the caution to their members to avoid fixers and instead process the applications personally since they have employees willing to assist.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
