This Female Cadet Topped The Ranks In PMA’s Class 2019 Graduates

PMA CLASS – A female cadet graduated this year from the Philippine Military Academy with flying colors by topping the batch 2019 graduates’ ranks.

Two years ago, in the batch of 2017 graduates, eight female cadets from Philippine Military Academy ended up in the top 10 ranking of graduates.

This year, a female cadet ended up topping her batch. There were five top ranking female cadets in the class 2019 graduates.

Dionne Mae Apolog Umalla, Cadet 1st Class from Allilem Daya in Ilocos Sur lead the 263-strong PMA MABALASIK (Mandirigma ng Bayan, Iaalay ang Sarili, Lakas at Tapang Para sa Kapayapaan) in the class of 2019.

There were 73 female training students in their batch. Next Sunday (May 26, 2019) the graduated class awaits President Duterte’s approval for them to be commissioned as junior officers.

Cadet 1st Class from Glyn Elinor Buansi Marapao of Baguias Town, Benguet ened up the top eight cadet. She was the sister Eda Glis Marapao – the third top cadet in class 2017 PMA – Salaknib.

Cadet Umalla was already the fourth female cadet who graduate as the valedictorian from PMA.

Umalla is getting rewards for her achievement as well, she’ll receive the following:

  • Presidential Saber,
  • Phil. Navy Saber,
  • Distinguished Cadet Award,
  • Academic Group Award,
  • Humanities Plaque,
  • Management Plaque,
  • Social Sciences Plaque,
  • Natural Science Plaque,
  • Computing and Infomation Sciences Plaque,
  • Jusmag Award,
  • Australian Defense Best Overall Performance,
  • Spanish Armed Forces Award, and
  • the Agfo Award.

Right next to her in the rank was Cadet 1st Class Jonathan Mendoza from Cavite and cadet Jahziel Tandoc from Benguet ended up in the 3rd rank.

The rest in the rank were: C1C Daniel Heinz Bugnosen Lucas, Aldren Maambong Altamero, Richard Balanag Lonogan, Marinel Dinihay Fundales, Marapao, Ruth Angelique Ricardo Pasos and Daryl James Jalgalado Ligutan.
