Few years ago, a report revealed that the former VP’s president was to become president of the Philippines.

After the 2019 midterm elections was concluded, the final vote counts showed that Binay lost to his rival in the congressional seat.

However, Binay kept his belief that he did not lose support from the voters of Makati.

Following his lost as 1st District representative candidate to rival, former acting mayor Romulo Peña, his camp released a statement about the situation.

Binay himself stated that he is prepared to make revelations in his statement:

“We will reveal facts, data and evidence that would show why the election result does not reflect the true will of the voters of my district at the proper time.”

Basically, he was saying that the recent poll’s outcome did not truly represent the voters’ opinions and does not align with the pre-election surveys conducted in the region back in September 2018 to April this year.

He also stated that the poll outcome did not match the endorsements he received from Iglesia Ni Cristo or INC – an independent nontrinitarian Christian religious organization and other supporting sectoral groups.

This is according to an article from Philstar.

According to the poll results, Binay lost with almost a 6000 gap to his rival Peña.

Jejomar Binay garnered 65,229 votes while Romulo Peña got 71,035 winning the congressional seat.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
