The Winning Senatorial Candidates Could Be Proclaimed Tomorrow
ELECTION 2019 – Winners of the recently conducted midterm polls for senatorial seats and partylists might be announced oficially tomorrow.
The 2019 midterm election was conducted last Monday (May 13 2019). After the polling procedures, many people have been following updates for the election results.
Meanwhile, in Manila, the announcement for the winning Senatorial candidates and partylist representatives will be made simultaneously tomorrow. This will be done with the supervision of election authorities as they reportedly forwarded invitations to election winner to participate in the event.
Commission on Elections or COMELEC’s spokesperson James Jimenez revealed information about the announcement in a press briefing held yesterday (May 17, 2019):
“There are still some matters to be settled, but the direction that we are going is one proclamation for both Senate and party-list.”
He said it would be best done simultaneously as it’s better for everyone and it could get quickly.
Back in 2016, the proclamations were done separately, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
Jimenez also said that they are not working in a rush because they still have to compute the party-list. He also said “Sobrang tentative pa ang Sunday. [Sunday is still tentative]”
Top senatorial candidates’ – Cythia Villar and Grace Poe – staff also claimed that they have received calls/text messages from election authorities inviting them to the proclamation event.
Instructions about attending the event came with the text invitations.
The instructions stated the number of people allowed to go with the senatorial candidates including photographers and other personnel.
There are 131 party lists competing in the polls for 61 seats in the House of Representatives. Meanwhile, 145 certificates have been tabulated by the Comelec as National Board of Canvassers yesterday by 3:30 in the afternoon.
