Al-Rasheed Pendatun Macadato, Young PNPA Cadet Dies During Training Exercise in Cavite
Al-Rasheed Pendatun Macadato, a young cadet at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) died during their training exercise in Silang, Cavite.
Last Tuesday afternoon (May 14, 2019), the 21-year-old police cadet suddenly collapsed during a run at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, which is a part of their training exercise.
The fourth class cadet was immediately rushed to Qualimed Hospital in Sta. Rosa, Laguna after the incident.
On Wednesday morning (May 15, 2019), Macadato who was only 10 days into the summer training program passed away.
The academy explained that the young cadet underwent the same training program imposed during the previous years.
The attending physician ruled out hazing as the cause of Macadato’s death, according to PNPA.
On Thursday morning (May 16, 2019), the cadet’s remains were brought on his hometown in Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
PNPA director Police Brig. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo has also expressed his willingness to provide assistance for the victim’s family.
Malayo also said that they would also investigate the possible lapses in the training program.
