A lot of Filipino workers considered working abroad because of several reasons, mostly financial. Despite the difficulty, Filipinos endure the sadness that comes with leaving the family behind to provide for a good life for them.

There are many countries that hire Filipino workers, here is a list of the salary rates of Filipino workers in various countries abroad.

Recently, in an assumed attempt to leave the country for a better life, five women were intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration at the Clark International Airport Wednesday last week (May 8, 2019).

These women lack the necessary papers and documents to be legitimate overseas workers and tried to leave the country declaring themselves as tourists.

Operations Division Chief Grifton SP. Medina from the office of the Bureau of Immigration revealed that these five women were leaving the country to go to Malaysia and United Arab Emirates or UAE.

It was also revealed that three of the women were hired as night club entertainers. While two of them were hired as domestic helpers.

Medina said this during a press release.

It was also revealed by the Bureau of Immigration that the three supposedly hired as night club entertainers were offered a job though an online platform. They then had to meet a man in Quezon City, where they received P10,000 for the recruitment.

This is according to an article from MSN News.

Meanwhile, the supposed domestic helpers, showed faked VISAs for United Arab Emirates. They were also offered a job based in Beirut.

Medina explained his observation in his statement:

“Obviously these women have been victimized by unscrupulous human trafficking syndicates that prey on the poor. We must pursue cases against these illegal recruiters to protect our fellow Filipinos from exploitation in foreign lands.”

The women were transferred to the inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking to be assisted and probed.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
