Vico Sotto ended Eusebio clan domination in Pasig City this Election 2019.

ELECTION 2019 – The celebrity son turned politician Vico Sotto ended the domination of the Eusebio clan in Pasig City for garnering a big lead of votes against rival.

Celebrities Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes son is Vico Sotto. He majored in political science from the Ateneo de Manila University and entered politics in 2016 where he ran for City Councilor for Pasig City.

And after serving for one term, the celebrity son turned politician had a more than 80,000-vote lead against his lone opponent, incumbent Mayor Bobby Eusebio based on Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) partial and unofficial tally as of Tuesday 9:46 a.m.

He received 204,118 votes, while Eusebio received 118,281 and his opponent’s chance to win the mayoralty race is “mathematically impossible” already. Thus, ending the 27 years of reign of the Eusebios in Pasig.

According to Rappler, the Eusebios reign started in 1992, way back when the millenial Sotto was still two years old. He is “a new blood” but with an old political name. He is the nephew of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and cousin of Quezon City vice mayoral candidate Gian Sotto. Vicente Y. Sotto is his great grandfather.

Meanwhile, in Manila Times’ report, he admitted, “Ever since I was a kid, government service ‘na yung interest ko, I recall being extremely interested in the impeachment trial in 2001 to the point that my friends teased me about it.”

And as a millenial politician now, he is idealistic and hungry for change and that is exactly what he promised to the people of Pasig – to bring and offer something new to them.
