COMELEC expects 61,843,759 Filipino voters to participate in the May 2019 polls.
On Monday, May 13, Filipino voters flock to their respective precinct early to cast their votes to their favorite candidate.
Most of them are prepared their list or sample ballots to make sure they voted their political bets.
Meanwhile, a voter from Bulacan said she her right to vote was stolen from her.
Based on a report from GMA News, a female voter complained after a member of the Board of Election Inspector (BEI) allegedly put an indelible ink in her finger even before she has voted.
After the BEI member verified her name on the list, she advised her to go over to a woman in black.
“Pinadiretso niya ako sa isang table na may balota , yun po dapat ang ishe-shade natin. Ngayon po, hindi ko po yun nagawa kasi ang sabi niya diretso po ako doon sa babaeng naka-black,” she said.
According to the report, the woman in black marked her finger with an indelible ink without asking the Bulacan voter if she has voted.
The voter fed her ballot to the Smartmatic machine and received a voting receipt. She saw names on the receipt even if she did not shade anything on her ballot.
“May lumabas na isang mahabang papel, may pangalan na agad e, pero wala akong boto,” said the voter.
Based on the report, the Bulacan voter tried to raise her issue to the BEI member but she just received a reply, “Okay na yun.”
The voter cried and felt terrified after what happened. She approached the media and expressed her concern.
