After reclaiming his freedom, Jinggoy Estrada is currently looking to make a comeback to the Senate. He is running in the senatorial position for this coming May 13 elections.

Last Wednesday (May 8, 2019) Estrada joined the miting de avance of Hugpong ng Pagbabago candidates held at San Pedro Square.

This is according to a report from Manila Bulletin.

Witnesses revealed that Jinggoy Estrada and came into the airconditioned media holding are with his staff and sparked a cigarette. The holding area was just beside the tent reserved for senators.

However, before Estrada started smoking he checked on one journalist if they would mind him smoking inside. The lady journalist also affirmed Estrada’s question if it’s fine for him to smoke.

The lady journalist also whipped out a cigarette but threw it immediately after being asked to stop by her fellow journalists.

Estrada kept on smoking even after more journalists crowded the room.

Estrada was also heard saying “Alam ko bawal sa labas eh. [As I know, it’s prohibited outside.]” as he responded to a reporter asking him why he is smoking inside the tent.

Journalists and reporters were waiting to interview Estrada. But they decided to go out eventually when the senatorial candidate continued his cigarette.

A senior member of the Malacañang media staff said:

“He should know better. It’s an airconditioned holding area, and smoking is banned here.”

According to a city ordinance passed recently, smoking in public areas are prohibited and that violators can be penalized with P5000 to P10000 fee.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
