Construction For The LRT1 Cavite Extension Project Will Begin Today

LRT1 EXTENSION – The actual construction process for the LRT1 Cavite Extension project will begin today (May 7, 2019) by 11:00am.

The extension of the light rail transit 1 to Cavite has been looked at by authorities since the early months of this year.

It is expected to stretch the LRT1 to about 33 kilometers coming from Roosevelt, Quezon City to Niog, Bacoor, Cavite City.

Finally, the actual construction will begin today. It is also expected to be done by the last months of the year 2021 or the first months of 2022.

In a collaborative effort by Department of Trasportation or DOTr, Light Rail Transit Authority or LRTA and Light Rail Manila Corporation or LRMC, the necessary resources for the construction to begin are now provided.

The 11.7 kilometer extension for the Caviteños will begin soon .

In an announcement made by DOTr on Facebook, it was posted 3 hours ago that the construction will begin by 11:00am today.

The post listed some features of the extension:

  • Right of Way Acquisition (ROWA) — certified nang “free and clear” ng Independent Consultant (IC) ang mahigit 90% ng Right of Way ng Package 1. Dahil dito, handa na rin ang pagtatayo ng mga viaduct at mga istasyon.
  • Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) — on-track ang delivery ng 120 LRVs. Ang mock-up nito ay ipinadala nitong January 2019.
  • Depots — Pirmado na nitong February 2019 ang kontrata para sa pagpapalawig ng Baclaran Depot at pagtatayo ng bagong Zapote Depot.
