“First Time Job Seekers Assistance Act” Gets Approval of Pres. Duterte

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the “First Time Job Seekers Assistance Act”.

Every year, a lot of people join the workforce in the Philippines. A huge portion of the populace of job seekers are fresh graduates from the different colleges and universities nationwide.

In applying for a job, there are requirements that these job seekers should process aside from the documents provided by the schools where they graduated from.

Inevitably, processing the said documents in order to be able to apply for a job may require an amount. Considering that the applicants are first time job seekers, they would have to get it from their savings, from their parents, or, for many, they would have to find ways to have some money for it.

Recently, a good news for first time job seekers crossed the surface.

Based on an article on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the “First Time Job Seekers Assistance Act” or the Republic Act No. 11261.

Under the new law, first time job seekers are exempted from paying in processing government-issued documents for employment. They should comply with a barangay certification proving their purpose to avail the benefit.

According to the report, here is a list of the documents that first time job seekers are exempted from its processing fees:

1. Tax Identification Number (TIN)
2. Barangay clearance
3. National Bureau of Investigation clearance
4. Marriage certificate
5. Medical certificate from a public hospital
6. Birth certificate
7. Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) card
8. Transcript of academic records issued by state colleges and universities
9. Police clearance certificate
10. Other documentary requirements issued by the government
