Court Grants Request of Sen. De Lima for Furlough on Election Day

DE LIMA – Detained Senator Leila de Lima’s request for furlough on Election Day was granted by the Court.

Currently, it is election season in the Philippines. The midterm Election 2019 will be held on May 13 and we are just six(6) days away from the peak of the political bid.

Both local and national elections will be held on May 13 and the public is encouraged to exercise their right to vote.

In line with the upcoming Election 2019, a detained Philippine Senator recently filed a request to leave the detention center on the day of the election.

Based on a recent social media post on the Facebook page of Philippine News Agency, detained Sen. Leila De Lima requested for furlough on Election Day and it was granted by the Court.

The lady Senator is currently detained over drug allegations. On May 13, she will be allowed to leave the detention center to cast her votes.

According to the post, it was the Parañaque Court which granted the request of the Senator for furlough.
