A 4400 Year Old Tomb Was Discovered Near The Pyramids
4400 YEAR OLD – Egypt reported the discovery of a tomb shared by two priests that is about 4400 years old last Saturday.
The Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt are truly some of the most mysterious structures on Earth. It’s hidden mysterious that are awaiting to be discovered attracts thousands of scientists and archeologists to be on the site.
Here are 17 lost pyramids that were discovered by NASA’s satellites.
Recently, a cemetery was discovered by a team of excavators while they are gathering information about tombs of the Late Period (664-332 BC).. The burial ground also had sarcophagi – stone coffins – that are from the Fifth Dynasty 2494-2345 BC.
The discovery spurred valuable information about the cultural history of the early residents.
Zahi Hawas, an Egyptian Archeologist, explained the importance of the discovery in his statement:
“To discover an Old Kingdom (2686-2181 BC) tomb within the 26th Dynasty (664-525 BC) tombs is very important. It tells us about the people who have maintained the cult of the king. The workmen tombs are different completely. The workmen tombs are very important. They are proof to the world that they built the pyramids, they were Egyptians and they were not slaves.”

The remains of Behnui-Ka, a priest and the supervisor during the Pyramind of Khafre’s construction and Nwi, a priest on the holy court was discovered in the same tomb.
Also included with the discovered tombs are colorful wooden artifacts.
Khaled al-Anani, Egyptian Minister of Antiquities expressed his appreciation towards the contribution of the prior discoveries to the pool of knowledge in Egyptology.
He revealed that a small cemetery was discovered on the sout east part of the pyramids containing one well-preserved tomb and six colorful coffins.
