Photo Exhibits Depicting The Marawi Siege Featured On World Press Freedom Day

MARAWI SIEGE – A photo exhibit of Marawi siege depictions was featured during the World Press Freedom Day celebration at Ateneo de Manila.

The Marawi Siege was carried after extended firefights happened in the town between Maute terrorist group and the government forces. The exchange of gunfire have turned the local town into a chaotic scenery.

Previously, recalling the memories of the disastrous battle, a photo exhibit was featured during the celebration of the World Press Freedom Day.

The Forum ‘Pahayag’ on Media Freedom and Responsibility with the celebration of World Press Freedom Day was held at the Leong Hall of Ateneo De Manila University on April 29, 2019.

The forum was lead by the British Embassy and Canada, whose ambassadors also attended the forum pursuing freedom of [press] statement.

Other guests who attended the forum were Rappler’s Pia Ranada and Maria Ressa, ABS CBN’s Jacque Manabat, and other remarkable journalists and reporters.

After the forum, a photo exhibit was presented about the politics of United Kingdom and the historical events in our country. Including the war in Marawi and the administration’s war on drugs.

This is according to a report from ABS CBN News.

Later on, the forum ended as well as the photo exhibit with positive outcomes.

Where everyone agreed that the pursuance of truth is synonymous to freedom of statement.
