Based on the forecast of PAGASA, their findings are similar to those of the 30 stations from 30 countries that are also forecasting the El Niño. According to Al Quiblat, Pagasa’s officer-in-charge.

He also announced that Cebu and other areas in the country will extreme heat this May.

This is according to an article from Sunstar Cebu.

Despite the El Niño stretching until August, regular rainfall would still be highly expected in June.

The hottest temperature in Cebu for the initial months of 2019 from January to April was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius on April 20.

Last year, the hottest temperature in Cebu was at 34.5 degrees Celsius recorded back in May.

In the upcoming days this month, the temperature is expected to be rise up to 35 degrees.

Meanwhile, Metro Cebu also experiences water shortages during dry spells due to population growth, in-migration and water supply drop.

The spokesperson of Metropolitan Cebu Water District or MCWD Charmaine Kara, admitted that there is a water supply problem in Cebu, but the MWCD is on the job finding effective solutions.

Queen City of the South’s Councilor Councilor Joel Garganera previously put the blame on MCWD for not constructing rain catchers for rainy seasons.

Last Tuesday (April 30), spokesperson Kara and MCWD general manager Jose Eugenio Singson Jr. attended the executive session with the City council to explain the current water supply situation of the City.

They also explained the actions they are considering to resolve the prior issues.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
