When Liza Soberano announced that she can no longer continue shooting for the iconic superhero, fans were saddened. However, as they say, the show must go on, so the Darna movie will have a new star.

ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt has already started the audition for female aspirants who is fit to be the next Darna.
Just recently, a video of Julia Barretto who appeared to be jokingly rushing for Darna audition surfaced on social media.
According to a report from Abante Entertainment, the people behind the iconic Pinay superhero movie is looking for a Darna aspirant who is 20 to 26 years old, 5’5” tall, physically fit, can speak Tagalog fluently and has acting experience.
“Nagpatawag din kami from several talent scouts, modeling agencies, talent agencies. Kahit mga past contestants of beauty pageants, kahit sa field of sports — may athletes din na nakapag-audition na. We’ve had several auditions from our very own artists from Star Magic,” Star Cinema head Direk Olive Lamasan shared.
She added that the Star Hunt audition is not a promise that the next Darna will come from there. It is just an effort to give a chance to others who also want to play the role.
In line with this, based on the article, one question arises, “Is the Darna audition open to Kapuso stars?”
After all, the names of GMA artists Sanya Lopez and Jennylyn Mercado surfaced as two of the choices from fans.
