Does Sen. Ping Lacson consider the possibility of running for president in 2022?
LACSON – Philippine Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson broke his silence on the possibility of running for president in 2022.
In the Philippine politics, one of the most prominent personalities is Sen. Ping Lacson. He is now on his third term as a member of the House of Senate.
Undeniably, a lot of people are supporters of the Senator and many look forward to the possibility that he will run for president. He has previously lost one presidential campaign but many are hoping that he has not closed his doors to it.
Recently, Sen. Ping Lacson broke his silence on the possibility of running for president in 2022.
The next presidential election will be in 2022, when the term of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ends.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, speaking at the ANC Headstart Interview, Sen. Lacson laid down his stand on the possibility of running for president in 2022.
According to him, he has been there. He admitted that he did not go for a presidential bid in 2016 due to low numbers but with regards to the 2022 election, here’s what the Senator said:
“When people talk to me about the possibility of running in 2022, ang balik ko na lang sa kanila, I have only one requirement. I’m not closing the door but I have only one requirement – give me a clear chance of winning,” he said.
Based on the report, Sen. Lacson expressed that his years in politics have made him become “more pragmatic”, practical, and honed.
Aside from the Senator, another political personality who have many supporters on the possibility of running for President in 2022 is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Meanwhile, visibly, the presidential daughter is focusing on governing her city now.
