There Will Be No Power Outage During The Election Day
POWER SUPPLY – The Department of Energy or DOE assured that there will be no power supply problems during the day of the elections.
Recently, the entire Luzon grid was put under red alert after several power outages and lack of power supply. This was after the expected peak demand in the area exceeded the available capacity and power reserve.

DOE apparently reported, according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles that there will no problems [referring to the power supply] during the election day.

Cabinet members had meeting to discuss the power supply issue regarding the recent placement of the Luzon grid under red alert.
Nograles spoke about the DOE’s efforts to address the power supply concern in his statement:
“We see that the Department of Energy is doing their mandate to address the energy security in the country. The DOE has been aggressive in starting the power generation projects.”
Nograles also said that there is no need for presidential intervention to resolve the problems with power supply.
President Duterte apparently wants a peaceful and orderly election.
Meanwhile, Manila Electric Corporation or MERALCO announced that there will be blackouts in several areas in Luzon. These blackout are intended for maintenance purposes.
Scheduled power interruptions for MERALCO’s maintenance program will affect Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal this April 23 to 28.
MERALCO also announced poles replacement in these areas:
- Along M. Gregorio street in Barangay Canumay West, Valenzuela City
- Barangay Comembo, Makati City
- St. Francis Homes Subdivision Phase 7, Barangay San Antonio, Biñan City, Laguna
- Langit Road in Barangay Bagong Silang – Kaliwa, Caloocan City
- Col. Estacio street in Barangay Palingon, Taguig City
- Tolentino corner D. Jorge streets in Pasay City
