Fake Social Media Page Selling Miraculous Medals Exposed by Manila Cathedral
The Manila Cathedral warned the public regarding fake social media page selling miraculous medals allegedly blessed by Church officers from Vatican.
On Monday (April 22, 2019), the Facebook page “The Manila Cathedral” raised the public awareness against a fake social media page claiming to be connected with the church was selling miraculous medals.
The fake social media page was claiming that the medals were allegedly blessed by Vatican bishops and priests.
The group claiming to be “Youth for Manila Cathedral” said that the earnings from the medals would allegedly go for the renovation of the Church.
Manila Cathedral debunked the claims and revealed that “Youth for Manila Cathedral” does not exist.
The Church also encourages the public to immediately report such modus operandi to prevent people from falling into those schemes.

“WARNING: FAKE ACCOUNT
We were informed that there is an account using the name “Manila Cathedral” and
selling a “miraculous medal” blessed by priests and bishops from the Vatican.
They are also saying that they are the “Youth for Manila Cathedral” and that
they will donate the proceeds for the renovation of the Manila Cathedral. They
even grab pictures from our Facebook Page and post it on their fake page.
1. The said Facebook Page is NOT of the Manila Cathedral therefore it is FAKE.
2. There is NO existing group “Youth for Manila Cathedral” that will donate
proceeds for the renovation of the Cathedral.
3. There is no such thing as medals blessed by bishops, priests, or the Pope
for sale. This is a sin called Simony.
