NGCP Announced Luzon Grid Placed Under Yellow Alert

Yellow Alert Raised in Luzon Grid, NGCP Says

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said that Luzon grid was placed under yellow alert for an undisclosed reason.

Starting 2 pm until 4 pm on Monday afternoon (April 8, 2019), Luzon grid will be place under yellow alert, according to NGCP.

The Department of Energy (DOE) was yet to disclose the details and information for the raising of yellow alert.

The yellow alert does not mean of power interruption it is only a condition wherein the reserves are less than the capacity of the biggest plant in Luzon.

Luzon grid has 11,286 Megawatts available capacity against the 10,438 MW expected peak demand.

However, DOE assured the public that there is a sufficient amount of power supply despite the series of yellow alerts this summer season.

The Energy Department also ensured the consumers that no power interruptions will happen regarding the yellow alert.
