These are the celebrities running for local government positions in Election 2019

ELECTION 2019 – March 29 is the official start of campaigning for local government candidates and here are the celebrities running for Representative, Vice Governor, Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Councilor.

Congressman Election 2019

Vilma Santos-Recto – Lipa City, Batangas
The Star for all Season is the incumbent House representative of Lipa City, Batangas. She previously served as the provincial governor and Lipa City mayor.

Edu Manzano – San Juan City
The actor-host is running for the Congressman of the lone district of San Juan City, one of the most progressive business districts in the country. He was Makati vice mayor from 1998 to 2001 and he ran for vice president in 2010 and senator in 2016.

Alfred Vargas – Quezon City, 5th District
Alfred is seeking reelection as Quezon City 2nd District representative after serving the same district as a councilor.

Richard Yap – Cebu City, North District Representative
The actor, who is also a businessman is a newbie in politics. He aims to be the representative of Cebu City North District.

He is seeking reelection as Manila’s 3rd District representative. Previously, he was one of the councilors of the city for three terms.

Lucy Torres-Gomez – Ormoc City Representative
Once again Lucy is aiming to be the representative of Ormoc City, Leyte. She started her career in politics in 2010 when she substituted for her husband, Richard Gomez, as representative of Leyte’s fourth district.

Rommel Padilla – Nueva Ecija, 1st District Representative
He is running for Nueva Ecija 1st District representative. Rommel has been serving his constituents as a board member of the said district.

Ciara is seeking a congressional seat as the second nominee of Luntiang Pilipinas Partylist. She is the daughter of Senate Presiden Tito Sotto and veteran actress Helen Gamboa.

Jolo Revilla – Cavite
The actor is seeking another term as vice governor of Cavite. He started his political career as barangay captain in Bacoor, Cavite in 2010. He became the president of the province’s Association of Barangay Captains. The son of Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado is the youngest Filipino to hold the position of Vice Governor when he was elected in 2013.
