‘Suspect’ in Christine Silawan’s Case Jonas Bueno Arrested in Davao City

CHRISTINE SILAWAN – Jonas Bueno is the suspect in the killing of Christine Silawan.

Last Monday, an alms collector named Christine Silawan was found dead in a vacant lot in Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City.

The 16-year-old was skinned to bone the face and has 2- stab wound. The doctor who conducted the autopsy said she lost some of her major organs.

The bounty money for anyone who could point the killer of Christine Silawan will be awarded 2 million pesos.

Following a previous article, the authorities finally released the photo of the alleged suspect of the young girl’s ‘barbaric’ death.

The alleged cult leader Jonas Bueno is from the mountainous barangay in Danao City.

Based on a report from Sunstar, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Davao arrested Jonas Martel Bueno yesterday Davao City.

CIGD Field Unit Milgrace Driz stated Bueno already has an arrest warrant issued by the Danao City Regional Trial Court for ‘brutally’ slaying the 62-year-old farmer.

According to the report, the police officers are looking into the connection between the old farmer’s persecution and that of Christine.

Police Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz said Jonas Bueno was located because his photos were spread all over the internet and someone immediately gave them information about his location.

“Naay CI ang name kasi ginamit Jason Martil sa FB. Sa FB nikalat. Nakakuha ta informant same feature sa face,” said Driz.

During the interrogation of Police Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, Jonas Bueno denied slaying Christine Silawan.

Based on the report, the arrest of the suspect was conducted by Davao City Police Office-Police Station 3, CIDG, NBI, Regional Intelligence Unit-Davao, and Mindanao Area Police Intelligence Office.
