Sandiganbayan Finds Ronnie Ricketts Guilty of Graft Over Release of Pirated DVDs

RONNIE RICKETTS GUILTY GRAFT – Former actor and Optical Media Board chairman Ronnie Ricketts was sentenced guilty over the release of pirated DVDs.

One of the showbiz celebrities who landed on a post in a government agency is actor Ronnie Ricketts. He was previously the chairman of the Optical Media Board.

The said government agency is responsible for the regulation of the production, the use, and as well as the distribution of the recording media in the country.

However, Ricketts was faced with allegations surrounding his term as the chairman of the Optical Media Board. The release of pirated DVDs in 2010 became controversial.

Recently, the Sandiganbayan has given its judgment on the case against the former actor.

Ronnie Ricketts Guilty

Based on a report on PhilStar, Sandiganbayan found Ronnie Ricketts guilty of graft. Speaking to STAR, Elizabeth Marcelo expressed that it is over the release of pirated DVDs in 2010.

According to the report, the former actor is sentenced to six(6) to eight(8) years imprisonment.

Aside from Ricketts, OMB’s computer operator Glenn Perez was also found guilty of graft while OMB’s Enforcement and Inspection Division (EID) Head Manuel Mangubat and investigation agent Joseph Arnaldo were acquitted.
