Former PBA Player Arrested in Iloilo

The former PBA player Harmon Codiñera has been arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Barotac Nuevo-Philippine National Police arrested Harmon Codiñera during a drug raid.

The authorities recovered eight sachets of illegal drugs worth P20,000 from the ex-basketball player.

Codiñera admits that he was using illegal drugs he bought from Bacolod City but denied that he is a pusher.

Harmon Codiñera is the brother of Jerry Herman Codiñera, a Filipino coach and retired professional basketball player of the Philippine Basketball Association.

The ex-basketball player is working as a sports utility worker and stay-in at a training center if the town of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

The 55-year-old suspect played five teams in PBA including Purefoods where he played together with his brother Jerry.

The former athlete retired also coached in various basketball teams before he decided to move in Iloilo and retired in 1999.
