Duterte didn’t endorse Jiggy Manicad for Election 2019 and here’s the latter’s reaction about this
Broadcaster Jiggy Manicad was not included in the list of senatorial candidates who President Rodrigo Duterte endorsed for Election 2019.
It can be recalled that Duterte, during the PDP-Laban initial campaign rally in Bulacan, revealed before the press that he just felt obliged to raise the hand of Jinggoy Estrada in an event at Legaspi City.
Based on a previous report, the President never mentioned the name of the senatorial candidate during his two-hour speech.
Estrada, along with Bong Revilla and Jiggy Manicad are not included in the list of senatorial candidates with the endorsement from the Chief Executive, according to PEP’s report.
However, the three sentorial candidates are under the party of Duterte’s daughter Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
In line with this, Manicad expressed his reaction.
“Hindi po. Since day one, never po, kasi po ang kausap ko lang talaga is Mayor Sara,” paliwanag ni Jiggy nang makausap namin siya sa telepono, nitong Miyerkules ng umaga, February 20. Actually, she suggested that I talk to PRRD [President Duterte]. Pero sabi ko, ‘Ma’am, kayo na lang po ang kakausapin ko,” he said.

Despite that the President did not endorse him, Jiggy Manicad is confident about his candidacy.
