3 Pinoy Inmates Set to Be Released this March Following Detention in Hong Kong
3 PINOY INMATES HONG KONG – The three(3) Filipinos who were detained in Hong Kong are set to be released this March 2019.
Undeniably, there are a lot of Filipinos who flew to other countries. When they are in another nation, they are bound to obey the laws set in the said country.
It is no secret to the public that a lot of Pinoys experienced arrest in another nation due to certain acts. Among these Filipinos are three(3) call center agents who were nabbed in Hong Kong.
Based on a report in Radyo Inquirer, three(3) Pinoy inmates needed the assistance of the Philippine authorities after they were arrested for using false documents.
According to the report, the three(3) Filipinos are involved in a scam of opening a bank account using fake documents. They made a guilty plea on two counts of charges by “using a false instrument”.
The three(3) Filipinos were sentenced to a five-month imprisonment. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) assisted them. Recently, an update regarding them crossed the surface.
Based on the report, the three(3) Pinoy inmates in Hong Kong are set to be released this March 2019.
Consul General Antonio Morales reportedly expressed that the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong extended legal assistance to the three(3) Filipinos.
Furthermore, according to the report, the consulate also visited the three(3) Filipinos in the place where they are currently detained.
The authorities are suspecting that they will supposedly use the bank accounts they opened with the Bank of China and Standard Chartered Bank for money laundering.
