New Tropical Storm Spotted Outside PAR
The state weather bureau PAGASA is now monitoring a new tropical storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
On Wednesday (February 20, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is now monitoring to a cyclone that turns into a tropical storm.
The Japan Meteorological Agency and the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center name the tropical storm as “Wutip”.
The weather disturbance has a greater chance of becoming strong over the next few days, according to the Metraweather wind map.
Wutip, which is last located 3,000 kilometers East of Mindanao would not yet affect the weather condition in the country.
PAGASA also said that the northeast monsoon has slightly weakened but still prevailing over the Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the Visayas.
Most parts of Luzon, except for Quezon and Oriental Mindoro would have a generally fair weather condition.
Fair weather conditions are also expected over Visayas and Mindanao aside from Leyte, Surigao provinces and Davao Oriental that could experience some rains, according to the weather agency.
