IRI Announces El Niño Already Started & Expected To Lasts Until April 2019
The International Research Institute for Climate and Society El Niño phenomenon has already started and expected to lasts until April 2019.
The El Niño or dry spell has been already started affecting various provinces and regions in the country.
The climate agencies said that the dry season was expected to last until April 2019 and classified it under “Weak” category.
However, the research institute warned the public to take precautionary measures and prepare in case of emergency.
The weak El Niño is present in the tropical Pacific Ocean with a 65 percent of prevailing in the Philippines.
The chance of dry season was expected to reduce by around 50 percent around April to June 2019.
