Surigao Del Norte Hit by Earthquake with 2.5 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 2.5 magnitude quake in Surigao Del Norte this morning, February 14, 2019.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. Today, February 14, 2019, Surigao Del Norte was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Surigao Del Norte was located 09.71°North, 126.62°East – 052 km South 81° East General Luna. It occurred at 08:58:31 in the morning today.

The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 007 km. depth of focus.

In the bulletin released by Phivolcs regarding the quake that hit a part of Surigao del Norte, it is stated that there are no expected aftershocks and damage caused by the quake.
