Ang Probinsyano versus Kara Mia: what teleserye will win the first primetime slot?

Upcoming Kapuso drama series Kara Mia will compete with Kapamilya action drama series Ang Probinsyano in the first primetime slot.

The teleserye of Coco Martin has started airing more than 3 years ago and it has already defeated various shows from the rival network.

Previously, Alden Richards’ Victor Magtanggol tried to defeat it. Following that, the tandem of Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo did not work as well.

Now, GMA is ready to offer a new soap opera to primetime television viewers, the Kara Mia featuring Mika Dela Cruz and Barbie Forteza.

It will start airing on February 18 after Cain and Abel announced that its last episode will be on February 15.

GMA Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable said that Kara Mia will be a breath of fresh in primetime.

It is because the Kapuso network has created action series to the same time slot of Ang Probinsyano.

“It’s so exciting for us kasi it’s very different from what is being offered now on primetime on the first slot, but they should take a look,” Resonable said.

She also commended the performance of the lead actress, Barbie and Mika, who play sisters with a condition called Disprosopus or craniofacial duplication. It is a congenital defect wherein they have two faces but share the same body.

The Kapuso executive added that people who saw the pilot episode have positive feedback to the show, based on the article.

“We’ve seen the pilot, talagang palakpakan. Palakpakan ang mga tao, mga nakakapanuod,” she said regardless of the risk of this new concept.
