Another Party-List Group Questions Comelec’s Ruling Over Disqualification on May Elections

Another party-list group runs to the Supreme Court to question Comelec’s decision for disqualifying it on upcoming May elections.

The Advocates & Keepers Organization of OFW, Inc., questioned the ruling the Commission on Elections (Comelec) over disqualification to join the 2019 National and Local polls.

The AKO OFW party-list represented by its chairman Celerino L. Umandap and its National President Marcia Vicenta Paz G. Sadicon filed a petition for Certiorari.

The group also filed a prayer for the urgent issuance of Temporary restraining Order (TRO) and Writ of Preliminary Mandatory Injunction.

The party list was urging Comelec to allow AKO OFW to join the May 131, 2019 elections and its winning nominees if any proclaimed.

The group has been excluded from the May 2019 elections due to the wrong choice of words in registration application.

The registration application of AKO OFW party list says “majority” instead of “all” members consented to registration.
