The amount of seafarer’s death compensation for the respective beneficiaries has been finally revealed after bringing confusion to the recipients.

The death compensation of the deceased seafarers has been one of the most controversial topics online after several Pinoy sea workers went missing.

However, the compensation for the death of the seafarers brings confusions to the rightful beneficiaries.

Seafarer’s Death Compensation

The death compensation of deceased sea workers under the employment contract approved by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has been revealed.

Under the employment contract, employer is require to pay an amount of Fifty Thousand US dollars (US$50,000) and an additional amount of Seven Thousand US dollars (US$7,000) to each child under 21-year-old but not exceeding four children.

The beneficiary is the person assigned by the seafarer to receive its death compensation based on the Philippine law.

Meanwhile, the allottee is the one designated by the seafarer to receive its monthly salary.

The amount is higher if the death is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
