Northern Samar Jolted by Earthquake with 4.6 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Northern Samar this morning, February 4, 2019.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. At 08:32:13 in the morning today, February 4, 2019, Northern Samar was jolted by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Northern Samar was located 13.22°North, 125.13°East – 073 km North 10° East of Laoang.

The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 006 km. depth of focus.

Phivolcs also stated in its bulletin that there is no expected damage and aftershocks of the said quake.
