Eduardo Año Says Indonesian Suicide Bombers were Behind the Jolo Twin Blast
JOLO TWIN BLAST – Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said
Last January 27, 2019, twin bombed exploded at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu. The bombing left 20 people slain and 102 injured.
Jolo is known to be the fortress of the Islamic State terror organization, Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
The explosion caused all the residents to fear after the fatal explosion in the Roman Catholic Church.
Following a previous article, a CCTV footage of the bombing suspects was released. It can be seen that 3 suspected members of the ASG subgroup Ajang-Ajang group did the slaughter.
On Friday, the Interior Secretary Año reported that foreign terrorists were the ones who detonated the bomb.
Based on a report from Inquirer, Año stated that an Indonesian couple was behind the explosion last Sunday in Mount Carmel Church.
During Eduardo Año’s speech at the Barangay Summit on Peace and Order in Leyte, the foreign terrorists were supported by the Abu Sayyaf Group.
“It was the Abu Sayyaf (members) who guided them, studied the target, did reconnaissance and surveillance work, and brought the couple inside the cathedral,” he said.
According to the report, the male Indonesian has been in Sulo for a while. He is using the alias “Abu Huda” during his stay on the town.
Witnesses of the incident said the female companion of Abu Huda is the one who placed the bomb inside the church. They said the woman just stayed on her seat until the bomb exploded.
Based on the report, the Indonesian bombers were setting an example and influence the Filipino bandits to initiate a suicide bombing.
So far, no Filipino yet has ever conducted a suicide bombing.
