Food Processing Company San Marino Set To Stop Canned Tawilis Production & Set To Pullout Stocks
The food processing company San Marino of CDO Foodsphere Inc. has already stopped canned Tawilis and set to pullout stocks from market.
Earlier this week, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) declared Tawilis or also known as “Bonbon Sardine” as endangered species.
Tawilis is the only sardine that lives in fresh water all around the world and could be only seen at Taal Lake in Batangas.

Recently, San Marino of CDO Foodsphere Inc. announced that the company will stop producing canned Tawilis.
The company made the announcement because of their commitment to preserve marine life and natural resources.
“San Marino is committed to doing its share in protecting and preserving our marine wildlife and natural resources,” the company said.

The firm also said that they will start pulling out their stocked from various markets in the country.
“We will work closely with government regulatory bodies and Taal Lake authorities to help preserve our precious Sardinella Tawilis,” the food processing firm added.
