Brazil Dam Collapse: 200 Missing, Multiple Deaths Feared
BRAZIL DAM COLLAPSE – A dam collapsed in Southeast Brazil left 200 people missing and several deaths were feared.
A dam is a barrier that restricts the water flow or the streams. Aside from suppressing the flood on the area, a dam is also the source for irrigation, aquaculture, and human consumption.
It is also a source for electricity called the water power or the Hydropower. The falling water for the irrigation and the mechanical devices produces power.

Meanwhile, a dam in Southeast Brazil collapsed and killed several people while many are still missing.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the farmland and the riverside town was splashed by a overflow of mud last Friday. It destroyed houses and left 200 people missing.
The officials in Brazil worried that the incident have caused several deaths.
President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro is set to visit the affected area in the town of Brumadinho which is also near Belo Horizonte City today, January 26.
The incident in the dam is the first major emergency in the country since taking the office in the New Year.
According to the report, there are 39,000 people living in Brumadinho. The mud the covered the town was a hindrance to the officials to identify the gravity of the tragic incident.
One of the fire service official reported that “there were several deaths”.
There are still a lot of people that are stuck in the mud. “The disappearance of approximately 200 people,” he added.
Based on the report, the giant mining company Vale in Brazil is the owner of the dam. They have already confirmed the collapse and expressed that they prioritize the lives of the people and their employees.
However, the reason for the collapse was not revealed yet.
